NoordoostpolderSaturday 12 and Sunday 13 September mark the national Open Monument Day. In the Noordoostpolder, you’ll be able to take a look inside various monuments, including buildings that are not usually open to the public. Download the Noordoostpolder Programme Booklet here.
For example, you can take part in a guided tour of the (still-inhabited) house on the former Oud-Kraggenburg peninsula and visit the former offices of the Zuiderzee Works Authority in Emmeloord. The Poldertoren in the centre of Emmeloord is also open during Open Monument Day. From the viewing platform at the very top, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the town. A number of churches and the Waterloopbos are also listed buildings and are taking part in Open Monument Day.
So come to Emmeloord, Ens, Bant, Kraggenburg, Marknesse and Schokland during Open Monument Day to explore our monuments inside and out. Oh, and do pop into the Nagele Museum whilst you’re there…
