In 2026, the Fish Potato Run starts on the 2nd Saturday of September, or 12 September, from the cosy historic fishing port of Urk and runs through the unique polder landscape of theNoordoostpolder, passing halfway through the green village of Tollebeek to the potato capital Emmeloord.
Past editions have seen some 2,500 participants at the start. The Fish Potato Run is the biggest sports event in the Noordoostpolder region and surrounding area. Registration starts every year on the day of the 12-Dorpenloop, in mid-April.
The finish city of Emmeloord will be bustling on 12 September, not only with sports, but also with music and culture, as the annual Pieperfestival will take place there. So if you've run the Fish Potato Run or you've shouted and clapped the runners to the finish line, come and join the Pieper Festival.
