Luttelgeest profiles itself as an important horticultural village. Foodstuffs such as peppers, tomatoes and cherries are grown in the greenhouses around the village. Flower cultivation also takes place in Luttelgeest's greenhouses. The greenhouses therefore define the image of the village.
Also a kind of greenhouse, but different, is Pantropica, which has been crowned Flevoland's best outing by the ANWB for years in a row. Kuinderburcht is the name of two successive castles just outside Luttelgeest, near Kuinre (Overijssel). From here, ships on the Zuiderzee used to be raided. Come and see the castle ruins of the Lords of Kuinre for yourself.
A tourist transfer point (TOP) is the perfect starting point where you can leave your car and enjoy cycling or walking from there. At the Kuinderbos, on Hopweg in Luttelgeest, there is such a TOP. Get on your bike and follow one of the signposted routes through the beautiful countryside.
Do you prefer off-road cycling? Then the MTB route Kuinre is for you! This also starts at the Hopweg in Luttelgeest. You will cycle through both deciduous forest and pine forest and along the way you will encounter several hills and a spicy descent. Come on: show what you can do!
Cast your rod in one of Troutworld's four indoor fishing ponds. Outdoor fishing is of course also possible. Apart from trout, the ponds also have carp, sturgeon and catfish. Don't have your own fishing rod? No problem, you can hire one. And you can also prepare and eat your fish on the spot. Enjoy your meal!
Did you get hungry after all your activities in and around Luttelgeest? Then stay for a nice meal at the Pantropica Bar & Restaurant. The restaurant is free to visit, but does follow the opening hours of the jungle park, so be on time, as the hot kitchen closes at 17:30.
