Bird Island in the Black Lake is a paradise for birds. At least 60 species of birds breed on this uninhabited island, including special species such as the bluethroat, nightingale, lesser spotted woodpecker, goshawk and great warbler. Bird Island is an oasis of tranquillity for birds, making it a valhalla for bird lovers. To ensure that peace and quiet, you can only visit this unique island during one of our boat trips.
Mushrooms
Vogeleiland came into being in 1942 when sand and dredging were raised. Trees such as maple and lime were planted on this sandbank. The edges of the island are marshy. Due to the alternation of forest, reed and grassland, the island has a great attraction for birds. In addition to birds, Bird Island is home to many unusual mushrooms, such as large sulphur fungi and judas ear.
