Enjoying on catering square De Deel
Enjoying a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner is possible at one of 20 restaurants in the city centre. The catering square is located between the Poldertoren on De Deel and the Lange Nering. Step inside at 't Voorhuys, brasserie AanDeel, Chinese restaurant De Lange Muur or Lounge83. Together with the theatre, cinema and casino, the catering square is the meeting place for an evening out. In summer, you can cool down in the fountain in the middle of the square.
Further downtown, you'll find restaurant Da Enzo on Kettingstraat and De Ketting on Kettingplein. In between, you will also come across smaller eateries such as Bakhuus, Salut, Donerland, Taj Mahal, Anytyme The Place to be, Hema, Bakker Bart and IJssalon Bacio, to name just a few.
Shopping
In the Lange Nering, you will find no less than 120 shops with a very complete offer for the whole family! The centre offers 40 fashion shops with over 400 national and international fashion brands. Emmeloord offers the well-known chains such as Hema, C&A, Blokker, Kruidvat, Bruna, Trekpleister, Intertoys, Scapino, Ziengs schoenen, ICI Paris XL, Pets Place, Bristol, WE, Nelson shoes, Expert and smaller chains such as Jeroen Beekman mode, Xenos, Livera, Etos, Primera, Lucardi juweliers, Shoeby, Okay Fashion, MS mode, OPEN32, Elferink schoenen and many other brands.
Besides the national chain shops, the following unique shops have been household names in the region for years: Masseus mode, Pand Zuid, Viva la Diva, Schirm menswear, Eighty, Lef de kinderwinkel, Toffe Tantes, Witgoedspecialist De Munnik, Profile rijwielen De Munnik, Wauw wat mooi conceptstore, Kaptijn juweliers, Kyhan computers, Bike totaal Nijensteen and many others. Groceries
On the east side of the centre, next to Smedingplein, is the Albert Heijn supermarket. You will also find other retailers for your daily shopping such as liquor stores, a shoemaker, a food shop with butcher and poulterer and a fish shop. On the north side, opposite the Paardenmarkt (P), you can do your shopping at the Jumbo. Every Thursday morning, you will find the weekly market at the Kettingplein with fresh produce and more.
Other shops and service providers
The centre is also home to several opticians, hair salons, beauty salons, a nail salon, florists, liquor stores, bakeries, a poulterer and a butcher's shop. In addition to a diverse range of shops in the shopping street, the centre is home to banks, insurance offices, estate agents, employment agencies and many other service providers.

The staff are the friendly and mostly familiar faces of the centre and are also well acquainted with the offerings of the other retailers. Many fun events and activities are organised in the centre, including by the CME. During the Red Carpet Days, King's Day, the Pieper Festival, the Sinterklaas parade and around the holidays, the centre is very lively.
Excellent accessibility and free parking
The Noordoostpolder has a unique layout. Emmeloord is the centre, the heart, between all the green villages, Urk and the region around the polder. From all corners, Emmeloord, and thus the city centre, is very easily accessible. Parking in Emmeloord is free! You can leave your car all day at De Deel or the Paardenmarkt. Right next to the shopping street, in the Korte Achterzijde or behind it (Overtuinen), or on the squares near the supermarkets is the blue zone: you can park here for a maximum of 2 hours and with a parking disc.
The centre consists of: De Deel, next to the Polder Tower, and the 700-metre long shopping street: Lange Nering. On the south side, you will find shops in Korte Achterzijde and Kettingstraat. On the north side of the centre, you pass the shops on the Noordzijde and walk onto the catering square via Beursstraat.
