The name of the roads says it all. Remains of ships can also be found here in Flevoland's ancient seabed. Often ships from the 17th or 18th century. Some of these ships have been excavated, but many lie preserved in the landscape. Cycling through the Flevoland countryside, you sometimes come across a blue and white pole with a red ship. A marker of a tragedy that took place here centuries ago. The shipwreck post on Wrakkenpad just outside Creil is a fine example.
