Camping site and activity field De Stronk

Against Flevoland's oldest forest lies the Schoterveld nature reserve. Here you will find, at the Schoterplas, the peculiar terrain De Stronk. This is the meeting place for groups. Whether you come here as an entrepreneur, family or recreational group; this activity field offers endless possibilities. However, in connection with the surrounding nature, it is carefully considered whether the activities are suitable for this field. What is possible here anyway: year-round camping (provided there is no event).

This is what you can expect

A landscape wall has been built around site De Stronk. The nearby nature reserve has many small fens and is rich in dragonflies and ferns. The site itself is located at Schoterplas and has a beach with sunbathing area.

The vast Schoterplas is not swimming water, but serves as a resting place for tufted ducks and gadwall. The area is also home to 46 dragonfly species and dozens of different butterfly species. Moreover, you can spot small mammals, such as the fox and the otter. Ideal for nature lovers.

There is also an extraordinary viewing platform overlooking the water, which can also be used as a wedding venue. The haystack on the field serves as a large umbrella or parasol in different weather conditions.

Camping facilities

There are ten spots, with paved surface and electricity connection, for camper vans or caravans. From the camper van site, you have a beautiful view of the Schoterplas, a small lake created by sand and soil extraction and now set up for recreation and nature development. There is a water tap and a dump for camper toilets. After consultation with the forester, groups may also camp in the large outdoor area.

You may also light a fire here, with outdoor stove. Get the wood from the forester and enjoy the space here! Reservations cannot be made; registration is on site via the registration kiosk (which lists alternative camper locations in the Kuinderbos should the site be full or otherwise in use).

More information on De Stronk

The site has a large parking area for over 100 cars (and another 400 cars can be parked on meadows belonging to Staatsbosbeheer), and a car-sharing hub, where you can use the app Deelfiets Nederland to reserve an E-bike and use it to explore the beautiful surroundings.

There will be a TOP (tourist transfer point) at the car park: a column with, among other things, a map and tips for beautiful cycling and walking routes in the area. Since 2025, for instance, the sand sculpture route, which has a new theme every year, will start from the event site. Park your car in the car park and come and discover the Kuinderbos on foot or by bike. This area is called Little Sweden, so it is great for hiking!

For a snack and drink after your cycling or hiking trip or for dinner if you, as a camper, don't feel like cooking for a while, you can visit the adjacent restaurant FENN's from 20 February 2025. This site is located next to Holiday Park Eigen Wijze, with a total of 236 sleeping places.

Activity field De Stronk is about one hectare in size and can accommodate 2,500 guests per day. Clubs, community associations and companies can rent the field for their own events. Sit down with the Forestry Commission's forester and discover the unprecedented possibilities and facilities for large and small activities. Surprise yourself and your guests!
