This used to be the Zuiderzee, now the reclaimed Noordoostpolder. Stage 3 of the Pionierspad, which runs from Steenwijk to Muiden, starts in Vollenhove, Overijssel. After the dike along the canal, you walk through the Waterloopbos, special because of its scale models of global waterworks, then through the Voorsterbos and past Kraggenburg. This stage ends at the Netl recreation park, where you can eat something at the restaurant or even spend the night at Camping Kallumaan. But you can also just catch the bus at the stop nearby, to return to Vollenhove.
