Sea of land - Kraggenburg
Kraggenburg existed before the Noordoostpolder was designed on the drawing board. It was a peninsula in the Zuiderzee, with a lighthouse on a mound. Old Kraggenburg is still there, but now surrounded by a sea of land.
The Noordoostpolder swallowed up the island and further on, the new village of Kraggenburg was built. In 1944, a forest was planted there. The Voorsterbos is one of Flevoland's oldest forests and it is precisely there that you will find a varied mountain bike route with many technical sections. Between the villages of Vollenhove, Ens, Marknesse and Kraggenburg, you cycle over the former Zuiderzee soil. You twist, turn and climb and descend over bumps and humps, enjoying the rich nature along the way.
