From 17 April to 3 May, the annual Tulip Route in the Noordoostpolder takes place. This signposted route of approximately 100 km takes visitors past more than 1,500 hectares of blooming tulips and was named one of the world's most beautiful car routes by National Geographic years ago. During the Tulip Festival, various companies open their doors to introduce the public to the many polder products.
The owners of three beautiful farm gardens in Ens, Tollebeek and Espel go a step further and organise their own “Garden Route within the Tulip Route”: the gardens are open for two weekends, and on other days by appointment only.

Although it is still early in the year, enthusiasts can already enjoy the thousands of spring bulbs, hundreds of hellebores and many other early-flowering perennials, shrubs and trees. Part of this Garden Route can also be explored by bicycle: along the way, you will pass beautiful tulip fields.
