In the Noordoostpolder , we have three TOPs. A TOP stands for Toeristisch Overstappunt (Tourist Transfer Point). A TOP is the perfect starting point for your cycling or walking tour. There is always enough parking space at a TOP, so you can easily continue on foot or by bike. You can recognise a TOP by a 3-metre high column. Various cycling and hiking routes in the area are marked on this column.
At the TOP on UNESCO World Heritage Site Schokland, you are standing on a former island in the Zuiderzee. The old island rises visibly from the new flat polder landscape of the Noordoostpolder.
