Wendelbos route

(9.4 km)

Explore the young Wendelbos via the blue route. It connects to the Waterloopbos and was established from 2005 as a wet deciduous forest with poplars, willows and alders. On the drier soils are oaks, cherries and ash trees.

The route starts at the car park of national monument Waterloopbos. Follow the blue arrows there. The route is 9.4 kilometres, but can be shortened to 5.4 kilometres at point 3. Tip: The Wendelbos is wet and soggy in rainy periods. Sturdy and high shoes or boots are recommended then.

Right next to the car park you will find The ProefLab//, a combination restaurant and visitors' centre of Natuurmonumenten. Step in here before or after your walk for some goodies and leaflets about the area.
