Food.Film.Fest 2026 in Emmeloord

From 10 November to 10 December 2026, Food.Film.Fest will take place – an international film festival focusing on food, agriculture and the way we treat our planet. The Pioneers of the Future Foundation is also joining the festival. Two film evenings will be organised in November, featuring films that each show, from a different perspective, how food, agriculture, nature and the climate are interconnected.

The second film night is on 26 November in Creil; the first film night takes place on Thursday 19 November in the Belgian barracks at Voedselbos Emmeloord. The focus will be on the documentary *Regenerating Life*, which offers a surprising perspective on the climate crisis. What if the climate crisis is not just about the amount of CO₂ in the atmosphere, but also about the loss of life on Earth?

The film explores the important role of living systems – such as soils, plants and water cycles – in regulating the climate. Deforestation, industrial agriculture and depleted soils have disrupted this natural balance. At the same time, according to the film, these very systems reveal where opportunities for recovery lie.

The screening is free, but please register in advance to secure your place. Further information and the registration link can be found on the Pioniers van de Toekomst website. The film starts at 8.00 pm; doors open at 7.30 pm.
