During a walk through the Noordoostpolder you will pass unique locations: you can walk on or around the former island of Schokland, see scale models of various world ports in the Waterloopbos or admire year-round sand sculptures during a walk around the Schoterplas. There is plenty to see here if you love nature. Architecture lovers should not miss a diversion through the village of Nagele. Along the way, you will see buildings designed by Gerrit Rietveld and Aldo van Eyck and the green plan by garden architect Mien Ruys.
In the Noordoostpolder , we have three TOPs. A TOP stands for Toeristisch OverstapPunt (Tourist Transfer Point). A TOP is the perfect starting point for your cycling or walking tour. There is always enough parking space at a TOP, making it easy to continue on foot or by bike. There is also often a catering establishment nearby. Various signposted hiking and cycling routes start at every TOP. But if you choose one of the walking routes below, we will help you quickly and easily on your way with a map and a gpx file for your navigation device.
