The Urkerveld was created with a focus on cultural history, education and nature experience. For instance, it forms an attractive area for special birds, butterflies and dragonflies.
In 2020, a new cycle path was constructed which leads through the Urkerbos and Urkerveld. Enjoy the different stretches of nature, flora and fauna. The Urkerveld leads past the geological reserve 'P. van der Lijn', among others. Here you can find old boulders left behind after the Noordoostpolder was drained.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in this nature reserve.
