Forestry shop and work shed Kuinderbos

The Netherlands' first forestry shop opened its doors in the Kuinderbos in Flevoland. The shop is open 7 days a week from 8 to 8. It is a self-service concept where an old "iron fence" from a nature campsite serves as a cash register, where you make your own receipt and then pay.

The trade in the shop consists of products from the Kuinderbos, such as kindling, firewood for the firepot in the garden, nesting box packages, Finnish torches, anniversary book Kuinderbos, postcard Kuinderbos, wooden decorative owls (Mother's Day tip) and various bric-a-brac items.

From the shop, hot bread is also sold to guests of the neighbouring nature campsite de Veenkuil on Ascension Day and Whitsun and the high season. The shop is made of own sawn wood from the Kuinderbos (Kuinder forest) and is located next to the Staatsbosheer work shed. Among other things, this work shed is the gathering point for Staatsbosbeheer's annual 'saw your own Christmas tree' day.
