The Ramspoltoren is the place to discover the magnificent views over the landscape of the Noordoostpolder . From the Ramspol Tower, you have a wonderful view of the vast landscape of both the Noordoostpolder and Kampereiland: the new and the old land. The Ramspol bridge, right next to the tower, connects the two.
The tower was built after reclamation to look out over the new land. For a time, it was thought to be a Cold War air watch tower, meant to spot enemy planes. It has since emerged that the real air watch tower stood in a forest near Ens and that the Ramspol tower was built in 1957 as a recreational viewing tower. Even then, the magnificent view over the Noordoostpolder, Eastern Flevoland and Kampereiland was praised.
