Mountain biking enthusiasts will have a particularly good time here. Right next to the campsite is Bikepark Bant: a freely accessible, small-scale hilly landscape offering all sorts of challenges, where the joy of being active comes naturally. Don’t have your own mountain bike? You can simply hire one – along with the compulsory helmet – right at the campsite. Flowers, shrubs and garden herbs add colour to the park. Do you like mint tea? You can pick the leaves fresh from the hillside.
The campsite has a shower and toilet block, highly rated by guests, with a fresh green décor. Every pitch has access to electricity and there are water points. All camping pitches also have a paved area, making them suitable for motorhomes. Tents, caravans and motorhomes: anything goes. For cosy evenings, there’s a fire pit in the valley between the cycling hills, and you can also bake your own pizza in the on-site pizza oven.
Don’t have your own campervan, caravan or tent? Then why not stay in the ‘Doe Maar Groen’ or ‘Doe Maar Roze’ gypsy caravans? Or choose ‘Huisje de Bosrand’ or ‘Huisje Fiederels’. The latest rental properties are ‘De Maanloper’ for 2 people and ‘De Wachtloper’ for 4 to 5 people. The latter is a former soldiers’ quarters, where as many as eight soldiers used to sleep. Now, with a maximum of five people, you’ll fortunately have a bit more space... For slightly larger groups, up to a maximum of 6 people, there’s the Hooizolder: an apartment with beautiful, high beamed ceilings and two bedrooms.
Café Fiederels has a cosy atmosphere, with a bar and tables made from locally grown oak trees. Here you can sit down for a coffee, tea, soft drink or some chips. Tip: order a slice of homemade nut cake made with nuts from their own walnut trees. Delicious! The café has a simple menu. Breakfast is available if you book it the day before. This makes it very easy to turn your gypsy wagon or cottage into a ‘bed and breakfast’. Incidentally, the (cycle) café is a meeting place for mountain bikers, guests at Camping Fiederels and leisure cyclists who just happen to drop by.
The immediate surroundings have much to offer. Across the road is the Belevenissenbos; a place where you can start the day sportily thanks to equipment along the path, and where the central section has play equipment for children. Sandy beaches and catering facilities can be found four kilometres away at De Wellerwaard, a free recreational area. Is it a rainy day? Then visit the tropical gardens of Pantropica just down the road in Luttelgeest.
