The ‘Polderproeven Afslag Nagele’ route takes you to Nagele, a village built entirely to architectural plans. Even the prominent green spaces were designed by a (landscape) architect. Do you have plenty of time and an interest in architecture and/or the history of the polder? Then be sure to visit Museum Nagele and Huis Polman, in the centre of Nagele. You’ll then cycle via the village of Tollebeek to the former island of Urk, where the fishing industry is still visible everywhere and plays a major role.
Along the way, you will pass several catering establishments where you can enjoy lunch or have a bite to eat. You will find them linked to this route as intermediate stops. For each stopover, you can click through to more information about the location in question. Some of these locations are not exactly on the route, but are well worth a short diversions.
Be sure to also light up at Renne Streekproducten' farm shop in Nagele. There they have local and fresh fruit, meat, dairy and vegetables as well as other seasonal regional products for sale. Take some with you for the evening in your accommodation, so you can relive your day in Noordoostpolder with the tastiest regional products. We call that polder tasting.
